The Level 1 Diploma in Graphic Design is aimed at young people who have a keen interest in design.

At level 1, this course is ideal for learners starting out on a career in graphic design. The basic principles of design are introduced in an easy to understand way with learners given a chance to explore their own ideas.

The course content covers a broad range of the graphic design techniques including:

Typography, packaging, project design and idea development.

Learners are required to produce a portfolio of coursework which is graded at the end of the course.

Learners are required to attend college 2 days per week from 9am to 5pm.

All learners on this course are required to take a functional skills qualification which is embedded into the graphic design study.

The Level 2 Diploma in Graphic Design is aimed at young people who have studied graphic design previously at school or college to an introductory level.

The course content covers fundamental graphic design techniques such as the history of graphic design, typography and type design, packaging design, brand creation, conceptual idea development and digital design techniques.

Learners are required to produce a portfolio of coursework which is graded at the end of the course.

Learners will have access to real design projects working for external clients.

Learners are required to attend college 2 days per week from 9am to 5pm.

All learners on this course are required to take a functional skills qualification which is embedded into the graphic design study.

The Level 3 Diploma in Graphic Design is aimed at young people who hold a level 2 equivalent design qualification.

The course content covers advanced graphic design techniques and focuses on conceptual design work.

Learners on this course will be required to undertake real design projects, offering a professional design service. Learners will be expected to manage every stage of the design process: producing conceptual ideas, displaying effective time management, liasing with design clients and producing finished design work.

Learners are required to produce a professional design portfolio throughout the course.

Learners are required to attend college 2 days per week from 9am to 5pm.

All learners on this course are required to take a functional skills qualification which is embedded into the graphic design study.
